House Bill 3970- Companion

TAKE ACTION TODAY!

On November 15, 2005, NVIC responded to a Congressional request to explain our concerns with the Biodefense and Pandemic Vaccine and Drug Development Act of 2005 (S. 1873 aka "Bioshield II"):

Click here to read the  letter  from NVIC written to Senator Richard Burr's subcommittee staff director, Col. Robert P. Kadlec, M.D. (USAF-ret.)

NVIC issued a press release in response to a plan in the Senate to attach liability protection language to a Senate conference report which would have no debate.

The final version of S1873 is still being negotiated but is heading to the full Senate for a vote very soon.  You need to call and e-mail your Senator right now. This broad bill is being led by Republicans and will incorporate liability protections that will extend beyond bioterrorism products into the commercial market.

House Bill 3970 is a close companion and is also moving quickly Both of these bills will provide extensive liability coverage leaving citizens with no recourse if they are injured or killed by products used during an emergency.
