Welcome! We recently created the Vaccine Failure Wall as a way for the community to share their experiences with vaccine failure. Vaccines can sometimes fail to provide protection against the infectious disease they were designed to prevent. Do you have a vaccine failure story to share? Click here to complete our Vaccine Failure Reporting Form.  Your personal identity will be kept confidential.

Below you will also find stories shared by others that are listed in chronological order, with the most recent at the top. You're among the first to visit our Vaccine Failure Wall, so it may take a couple weeks for the initial stories to post. We appreciate your patience as this new feature of our website begins to  document the public's stories!

If you had a reaction to a vaccine or have been the subject of vaccine harassment, please click here to access those reporting options.

Failure
Minor car accident, was cut by shattered glass. The ER gave me a tetanus shot, which I later learned was ridiculous, tetanus doesn't live on glass, and doesn't transmit that way. I had immediate reactions - mainly, fever, and arm mobility problems at the site of injection. Couldn't use my arm for several months, lost work. Long term reactions included suffering about a year of malaise, chronic fatigue, depression, weight gain, spikes in pulse and blood pressure. All of this is documented by my physician, but it never got reported because nobody knows how. I also learned how exceptionally rare tetanus is, it's an incredibly rare condition among only infants and elderly with compromised immune system. Doctor said my chances of tetanus infection were less than 1 in a billion, but my chances of side effect were 1 in 4. It took a year to recover from that stupid shot, not worth it at all. The way I see it, the pharmaceutical industry stole a year of my life.

Failure
I received the Zoster vaccine for protection from Shingles in 2015. In October, 2016 I broke out in a blister filled rash on my upper back. I went to an Urgent Care center and then to a Dermatologist and both confirmed that it was Shingles. At the time of the onset of the rash, I was recovering from an upper respiratory infection. My physician felt that might have allowed the virus to become active due to my immune system being depressed. My Shingles outbreak was mild and responded favorably to anti-virus medication. I did not experience nerve pain.

Failure
As a natural practitioner, several clients of mine had pertussis. As these were large families, some had been immunized and others not. They all got it, didn't matter if they were immunized or not.

Failure
My daughter, who was vaccinated twice at the recommended scheduled times, got sick with chicken pox at age 11. She was severely ill for 4 weeks with lesions all over her body and especially her face. She has scars that remained into adulthood, which is disheartening. At first we didn't know what it was, but the pediatrician took a swab and confirmed it on one of the first pustules on her chest. After that it went into full blown chicken pox with lesions all over her body. I no longer trust in this type of medical intervention on healthy individuals. I only had one vaccine as a child, for small pox, but did get chicken pox and a light case of German measles when I was a child. Our parents would put us kids together in order to actually get the disease and build natural immunity to it during childhood. This overvaccinating is crazy!

Failure
I contracted pertussis, whooping cough. Very sick with choking cough for 8 weeks so far. Possibly provoked an epidural hematoma which is now contributing to extending my ill health for several more weeks. Primary care physician did not have pertussis on list of possible illness and did not suggest testing or treating.
