Welcome! We recently created the Vaccine Failure Wall as a way for the community to share their experiences with vaccine failure. Vaccines can sometimes fail to provide protection against the infectious disease they were designed to prevent. Do you have a vaccine failure story to share? Click here to complete our Vaccine Failure Reporting Form.  Your personal identity will be kept confidential.

Below you will also find stories shared by others that are listed in chronological order, with the most recent at the top. You're among the first to visit our Vaccine Failure Wall, so it may take a couple weeks for the initial stories to post. We appreciate your patience as this new feature of our website begins to  document the public's stories!

If you had a reaction to a vaccine or have been the subject of vaccine harassment, please click here to access those reporting options.

Failure
My 20 year old daughter, who recently obtained a titer for the Hepatitis B vaccine, was told she was negative. This means there is no immunity to the virus present in her system. She obviously received the series of three injections as a newborn, which has now proved completely unnecessary. The titer test was required for acceptance into a nursing program, which is also forcing her to receive the influenza vaccine as well.

Failure
I wouldn't call it a failure, but a horrifying adverse reaction. (Not sure which category I should enter this into). It was the longest night of my life. 8 hours after taking the vaccine, the following took place, and over a period of about 5-6 hours total. Chills, headache, nose dripping. Chills became shaking chills, copious nasal mucus, and by the time I made it to bed to try to warm up, I was coughing up tremendous amounts of clear mucus. Handfuls. Headache & stiff neck began, then pressure behind eyes. Shaking wouldn't stop. Delirium. Knew I needed to get to the phone or at least take my temp but couldn't think how to accomplish either. Just freezing and shaking alone in my bed, explosive headache, choking catarrh. Must have dozed off; awoke with worse headache, very stiff/sore neck, with my head thrown back, teeth clenched, fists at my chest, my body stiff and jerking. Making a sound like "Nghhh, nghh, nghh…". No idea how long that went on. Eventually subsided, got up to go to bathroom and realized I'd wet the bed. Finally got to sleep. Next morning back and neck very sore & I felt so hung over. The really weird thing is that I discovered tissues all over my bedroom floor, scattered like flower petals. I have no recollection of walking about in the night. I live alone. Went to walk-in the next day, PA said I probably had a seizure and probably shouldnt drive home. Nasal swab negative. Drove myself home. I'm 65 and have MTHFR c677t gene mutation. Happy to be alive and will never take another vaccine. Ever. Have had influenza a number of times and survived it just fine.

Failure
After the birth of my first child I was told that I needed to be immunized against Rubella and chickenpox, as blood tests during pregnancy confirmed that despite being immunized as a child that I now had no immunity to these. I was questioning vaccines but was basically told that if I became pregnant and caught either of these sickness my future baby could die. I consented to having the vaccines. Three years later I was pregnant and after having the routine blood tests was told that I needed to be vaccinated because I had no immunity to the two same diseases! I told them I had been repeatedly immunised against these already. I was told that they like to give the vaccinations three times in a row and they give up if they still haven't worked. I figured I had already had it twice so it obviously didn't work!

Failure
Minor car accident, was cut by shattered glass. The ER gave me a tetanus shot, which I later learned was ridiculous, tetanus doesn't live on glass, and doesn't transmit that way. I had immediate reactions - mainly, fever, and arm mobility problems at the site of injection. Couldn't use my arm for several months, lost work. Long term reactions included suffering about a year of malaise, chronic fatigue, depression, weight gain, spikes in pulse and blood pressure. All of this is documented by my physician, but it never got reported because nobody knows how. I also learned how exceptionally rare tetanus is, it's an incredibly rare condition among only infants and elderly with compromised immune system. Doctor said my chances of tetanus infection were less than 1 in a billion, but my chances of side effect were 1 in 4. It took a year to recover from that stupid shot, not worth it at all. The way I see it, the pharmaceutical industry stole a year of my life.
