Welcome! We recently created the Vaccine Failure Wall as a way for the community to share their experiences with vaccine failure. Vaccines can sometimes fail to provide protection against the infectious disease they were designed to prevent. Do you have a vaccine failure story to share? Click here to complete our Vaccine Failure Reporting Form.  Your personal identity will be kept confidential.

Below you will also find stories shared by others that are listed in chronological order, with the most recent at the top. You're among the first to visit our Vaccine Failure Wall, so it may take a couple weeks for the initial stories to post. We appreciate your patience as this new feature of our website begins to  document the public's stories!

If you had a reaction to a vaccine or have been the subject of vaccine harassment, please click here to access those reporting options.

None of your fields on this form correspond with our case, My daughter born in 2001 had all her scheduled vaccinations. She would get a lot of infections. When in preschool her finger got so infected it turned almost black. I was afraid it might needed to be amputated. After 4 rounds of antibiotics, her finger was back to normal. She was diagnosed with MRSA a couple of times. When she was maybe 7 or 8 she had strep throat, three times in less than a year. I told the doctor my concern with all the infections, and he had some blood work done on her. When the results came back he was completely perplex because she had no trace of being vaccinated. She had no antibodies that matched her vaccination records. He had been her pediatrician since birth. She was sent to a specialist that wanted to test her immune system by vaccinating her with Pneumovax and then redoing the blood work to see if her body worked with the vaccine to build the antibodies. For this vaccine we had to go to the Health Department that was concerned my child was getting this vaccine, but it was what the doctor wanted. At the end, the vaccine did work this time. But, how affective can vaccines be if they have no impact on a person at all like my daughter? This information may be in her records. I would have to check.

Every 10 years I would have a repeat of the Tetanus vaccination because as a swim instructor and exposure to many people of all ages in a recreation setting. I never had a side effect until 2008. By that time I was 65 years old. I was very sick for 7 months. The reaction of the vaccine was picked up 4 days after vaccination by the chiropractor who noticed swollen lymph notes in my neck. My body started to react with severe adrenaline dumpings several times a day and I had horrible dreams. I was scheduled to fly outside the country and vacation there for 5 weeks. I was so sick on vacation that after a few days I ended up in the emergency. I had to fly home after a week. Doctors had no understanding of what was going on. Slowly I got better. I do have many medication intolerances (always had) and PTSD. Maybe my "neurological" system had trouble. I believe the ingredients in the vaccine caused the problem and also being older it could have been too harsh a vaccine for me. I will never have another vaccine of any kind. Being so sick for 7 months with a reaction is not right.

Gave my children the Chickenpox Vaccine as it was required for kindergarten. I vaccinated 4 of my kids on the same day. Six months later, one of my children got full blown chickenpox. I had to wait in the parking lot for the Doctor to come out and confirm diagnosis. I explained that I don't understand he had the vaccine. I was then told that it is only 70% effective. Each of the other kids got a few spots on them, however, my only child who was not vaccinated did not get it at all.

Immediately after receiving the MMR and 2 other vaccines, my daughter experienced a systemic rash that the doctor said looked like the measles. It took over 2 weeks for the rash to go away. Then she stopped talking, developed severe colitis and diarrhea, and was later diagnosed with autism. The MMR vaccine caused encephalitis (expensive labs showed this), and 2 MDs confirmed it. The vaccine court denied her claim because she did not die, and was not admitted to the hospital for seizures. Our lives have been hell.

I was a fully vaccinated child and have been incredibly sick my whole life, gluten and lactose intolerant ect. My junior year of high school (3 years after receiving the DTaP) I was diagnosed with whooping cough.Yet, I should have been covered. I attended Dental Hygiene school and I was forced into taking the flu shot or they would 'absolutely not' allow me on the clinic floor; which would result in failing clinic and being kicked out of the program. I ask if I could file that it was against my personal belief and was told no. Both years that I received the flu vaccine I got the flu.
