The NVIC Advocacy Portal has issued priority OPPOSITION statements for eight states where legislators have introduced bills to restrict or eliminate vaccine exemptions: Arkansas (withdrawn), Connecticut, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Texas. We have issued priority SUPPORT statements for states where legislators have introduced bills to add or expand vaccine exemptions: Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi (died), New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Texas.
Bills to Electronically Track Vaccination Status, Add Vaccine Mandates
NVIC is also tracking bills that will eliminate opt-in consent mechanisms or expand electronic vaccine tracking systems monitoring the vaccination status of all citizens, which need to be opposed, in Connecticut, Idaho, Kansas, Massachusetts, Montana, New York and Texas.
There are dozens of other bills filed that need your immediate action, such as proposed new meningococcal vaccine mandates in Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine and Oregon, and other vaccine mandates for adults and children, as well bills that would publicly post the numbers of vaccine exemptions in schools.
